Villa Malakoff is set on the pristine estate of Villa d’Este. Built in the year 1568, as the summer residence of Cardinal Tolomeo Gallio, Villa D’Este was transformed into a luxury hotel in 1873, destined to become a favorite destination for the exigent European aristocracy.
Villa d’Este is surrounded by a 25 acres enchanting private park with centennial trees, statues, and colorful flowers, in one of the most celebrated areas in the world, where history, art, and nature have conspired harmoniously.
Villa Malakoff was built in 1860 and sits on a small secluded hill within the grounds of Villa d’Este, offering the most heart-stirring views of Lake Como. A luxury lake view such as this is synonymous with the art of living well.

This sumptuous 300 square meter villa is distributed over 3 floors. The rooms are all tastefully and luxuriously appointed, and the warm tones and informal yet superbly elegant ambiance will immediately win you over as soon as you step foot in this regal villa.
Villa Malakoff’s generous living room is positively grandiose and noble, with direct access to the villa’s main terrace, overlooking the entrancing Lake Como, with all its inlets, little bays, and promontories sharply diving into the water, truly a sight to behold forever.
The villa’s four bedrooms can accommodate eight guests and are comprised of two king-size bedrooms, with terraces and lake views, and two twin-size bedrooms with garden views. They all have a wardrobe and luxurious en-suite marble bathroom. The villa has also a lift and private parking.
Guests at Villa Malakoff can take advantage of all of the estate’s amenities including the Sporting Club, which offers a swimming pool, gym, tennis, and squash courts. There is also a splendid outdoor floating pool on the lake, and there is also Villa d’Este’s absolute pride, the Golf Club which is nestled among chestnut, birch, and pine woods. This 18-hole course is one of the most difficult “par 69” in Europe.
